3. The use of sodium gluconate in the water-reducing agent can increase the water-reducing rate of the water-reducing agent and promote the plasticization of the water-reducing agent. The water reducing and plasticizing effect of 1 part of sodium gluconate is higher than the water reducing and plasticizing effect of 1 part of equivalent water reducing agent.

4. Sodium gluconate has a retarding effect on cement concrete. After adding sodium gluconate, other retarders can be added to achieve the retarding pumping effect. In high-temperature and hot season construction or mass concrete work, delaying the initial setting time of concrete without affecting the strength of concrete is a difficult issue. The water reducing agent added with sodium gluconate can extend the plastic time of concrete from the first few hours to more than ten hours, not only does not affect its strength, but also improves the later strength of concrete.
